Certifications expand the educational publishing company’s access to corporate supplier-diversity initiatives and federal contracting opportunities
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — [September 24, 2026] — ScribeConcepts, LLC, a full-service educational publishing company, has been awarded national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB).
The Women’s Business Enterprise Council Greater DMV, a regional partner organization of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), granted the WBE certification. WBENC’s certification process confirms that a business is at least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by one or more women.
ScribeConcepts’ WOSB certification positions the company to compete for eligible federal contracting opportunities, including contracts designated for women-owned small businesses through the Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program.
“Certification doesn’t guarantee us new business, but it gives us another seat at the table. What we do once we’re there is up to us,” said Jody Knowles, owner and chair of ScribeConcepts.
