ScribeConcepts Seeks Freelance XML Editors
& Formatters to Join Our Digital Team



The ScribeConcepts publishing project management network anticipates a number of opportunities for client projects in the coming months. We need additional XML Editors & Formatters to achieve our goals.

If you are an independent contractor with expertise and availability, please submit your interest here: A Google account will be required to submit. 


Qualified candidates will be scheduled for interviews and required to complete a short vetting task for the role. When selected, you will be virtually onboarded and complete non-disclosure and business agreements. Invoices for payment are submitted at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s work and are paid by direct deposit within 30 days. 


Below please find a general description of the available role(s).


  • Review and edit XML documents in various markup languages like DITA and DAISY

  • Have familiarity with Oxygen XML Editor, XPath, and XQuery

  • Can understand and edit XSLT templates 

  • Able to batch edit, rename, transform and package files using tools or custom scripts

  • Have a working knowledge of other content editing software (InCopy, InDesign, PowerPoint, or Google Slides documents) and communication (e.g., Slack, Asana)

    • Mastery is not necessary, but the ability to adapt to the tools used by clients is a must

  • Proficient in Word or Excel documents (or Google file equivalents)

  • Have a working knowledge of MS Macros or VBScript

  • Must complete a vetting task in Google Docs and PDF to confirm attention to detail and editing skills

Standard hourly rate: $40/Hour avg


  • Proficient in Word or Excel documents (or Google file equivalents)

  • Transfer data from various Microsoft formats while ensuring fidelity from source to destination

  • Must complete a vetting task in Google Docs and PDF to confirm attention to detail 

  • $25/hr avg


Standard hourly rate: $25/Hour avg
